God said, ‘see I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of the earth, and every tree with seeds and it’s fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.’ and it was so.
— Genesis 1:29-30

I, Michelle Loyd-Paige, started my vegan journey is 2006. I’ve been primarily vegan or situationally vegetarian ever since. Being plant-based, aka vegan, is a spiritual discipline for me as well as an aspect of my pursuit of healthy living. This way of eating is not for everyone, I get that. However, a change to a more plant-based diet could help many people find relief from physical ailments.

In 2020, my daughter Adrian and I started a plant-based blog and posted recipes and lifestyle tips for about two years. We created some amazing food and had fun in the process. However, after two years, we decided to recalibrate. We are both still plant-based. We still love cooking and creating recipes, but rather that keeping the blog up, we are pivoting to create cookbooks.

So what does this have to do with Preach Sista!, glad you asked. Plant Based & Slay has become one of the Preach Sista! ministries as another offering under our building communities commitments. The message of Plant Based & Slay is all about living healthy as individuals so we can become and build healthy communities. To share this message and to equip those who are interested in either going fully or partially plant-based, we will be sponsoring 7-day plant-based challenges and offering tips for plant-based living on our ReFill with Preach Sista! FaceBook group page during the month of January. In addition, we are working on plant-based cookbooks, cooking classes, and supper-clubs for later in 2025.

Join us in January 2025 for the 7-Day Challenge
